Michele Hanson - Chairwoman Of The Board

Michele M. Hanson propels careers, businesses and non-profits to higher levels of success and productivity through her firm, ExecuInsight, LLC, which is the premier resource for executive level insight and expertise in all facets of business performance. Since 2004, Execuinsight has offered a full range of customized solutions ranging from executive level coaching, women’s advocacy tools, networking programs, mentoring initiatives

Ms. Hanson built her career leading top-producing sales and marketing teams for companies such as Coca-Cola, First Data Corporation, McLane Company, Inc. and The Pillsbury Company. She is the founder of the Network for Executive Women for the Consumer Products & Retail Food Industry, a dynamic organization that has been passionately embraced by professional women in consumer products and has expedited connections that have changed careers and lives. Recently, she served as the president of this organization and currently sits on the organization’s Board of Directors. Ms. Hanson also developed a successful Facilitated Mentoring Program which received the Minute Maid Company’s President’s Award and she has been instrumental in forming Discover YOU, a program designed to bring executive level leadership learning's to teens.

 

Energized by her distinctive talents as a performance strategist and coach, Ms. Hanson is a member of several industry organizations and serves on local community boards. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota. She and her husband, Robert, have two daughters, Amanda and Nicole.

Renetta J Nicholas - President

Principal of JN Retail Connections, Joy has been engaged in the food retail industry for more than 35 years.  Her extensive network of grocery retail and consumer packaged goods industry leaders gives her a 360° perspective of retail technology solutions.  She was named a senior level executive Top Woman in Grocery in 2017 from Progressive Grocer magazine as a result of her knowledge, experience, leadership, mentoring and many significant contributions to the supermarket retail industry.

 

Joy was SVP/VP of business development for retail technology providers and VP research & technology for the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), the leading US supermarket trade association, representing more than 26,000 grocery stores.  She was directly responsible for industry research, retail technology, electronic payments (representing grocers on swipe fee initiatives), industry standards and supporting CIO, CFO, retail payments and board-level committees.

 

As a co-founder, former board member, scholarship committee chair, and active advocate for the Network of Executive Women (NEW), Joy has formed long-term relationships and earned respect among many of its 10,000+ members.

 

Joy’s additional retail experience includes management positions in I/T project management, accounting, cash management, pricing and marketing while at Ralphs Grocery Company (a division of The Kroger Company), Denny’s Restaurants and Taco Bell.

 

She earned an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BBA from Western Michigan University.  She is currently an Associate Adjunct Professor of Business Management and Instructional Associate at Austin Community College.

Amanda Martinez - Secretary

Amanda has grown up in the CPG Industry and has had a vast experience base ranging from selling, to training, to broker management and merchandising. She has a talent for connecting with clients and team members and helping them to understand key concepts that will assist them in achieving their goals. Amanda has seen much success in her career with well-known companies like the Clif Bar & Company, Presence Marketing, and BWX USA which carries popular lines like Mineral Fusion, Andalou Naturals and Sukin.

Ms. Martinez is a Millennial with a passion for customer service, helping others in need and serving her local community. She has traveled to Brazil and Kenya to educate and assist the poor in living healthy lifestyles. She values the mind-body connection and is an advocate for best practices in building strong and viable relationships, staying active and eating foods that nourish your body. Ms. Martinez volunteers within her community with the local food bank, blood donations, and animal rescue groups.

Amanda is a graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in Community Health. She and her husband, Mario, enjoy their beautiful pets in their home in the Dallas area.  In addition to being an avid athlete, Ms. Martinez enjoys creating unique works of art through her macramé talents.

Micheal Sansolo - Board Member

Countless studies and years of work with some of the world’s most innovative companies gives Michael Sansolo a unique and diverse view of the changing nature of trends impacting shoppers, employees, competition, economics, supply chains and management. A long-time senior vice president of the Food Marketing Institute and now a consultant, speaker and author, Sansolo has traveled the globe working with companies on adjusting to new market conditions.

Sansolo recently co-authored The Big Picture: Essential Business Lessons from the Movies, a book that identifies creative lessons in leadership, marketing and workplace dynamics gleaned from movies as varied as The Godfather and Young Frankenstein.Topics in the book include ethics, brand building, crisis management, outside-the-box thinking and diversity. Sansolo also writes a weekly column on wide-ranging business trends for www.MorningNewsBeat.com, a daily blog with nearly 28,000 readers.

Sansolo is a frequent speaker and moderator at conferences and company meetings in the United States and around the globe, addressing crowds from 20 to 5,000, from college students to CEOs of Fortune 100 organizations.   He conducts strategic planning retreats for companies and has designed conferences for a number of trade associations, including the widely acclaimed FMI Future Connect leadership conference.

He currently serves as the research director of the Coca-Cola Retailing Research Councils of both North and Latin America, working with these groups on emerging business topics such as social networking. He is vice chairman of the board of The Food Institute, an industry research organization. 

 

Sansolo works with students at Western Michigan University, St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, George Mason University in Virginia and Portland (Oregon) State University.

In his 13 years as senior vice president at FMI, the biggest food retail association in the United States, Sansolo had oversight over all education, supply chain and research activities.

 

In this position he developed an in-depth perspective of the changing nature of cooking, eating and shopping. Prior to joining FMI, Sansolo was editor-in-chief of Progressive Grocer magazine and was a reporter for Gannett Newspapers.  In his career he received a number of awards for excellence in writing and reporting.

Sansolo is a graduate of the State University of New York College at Cortland with a degree in political science, economics and journalism.

Greg Russell - Board Member

Greg Russell has been a television fixture for over 35 years.  Based in Detroit, Greg Russell is the movie reviewer and celebrity interviewer for "Live In The D" on WDIV (NBC) in the Motor City. 

 

His celebrity interviews have a large presence on the stations website,www.ClickOnDetroit.com.  Movie Show Plus airs statewide in both Michigan and Indiana on the Comcast CN network.   Greg’s movie reviews are also heard every Friday morning with Paul W. Smith on WJR AM 760.

 

Greg is an Emmy Award winning producer ("Positively Detroit") and was recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with a Silver Circle Award  (2012).  

 

Greg was recently elected president of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Michigan Chapter).  Greg Is a member of the Broadcast Film Critic’s Association (Critic’s Choice Awards), The Detroit Film Critics Society and the African American Film Critics. 

 

Greg was also on the board for the Michigan chapter of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).   Greg Russell is also a long time radio personality in Detroit.  He is also a life long Detroiter.

Nicole Hanson-Emerson - Board Member

Nicole Hanson-Emerson is a Marketing Portfolio Specialist for Alcon in Fort Worth, Texas where she works to enhance market share and product awareness for products that are critical to enhancing and saving people’s vision.  She specializes in project and process management for over 7 brands and 2 surgical groups and is an integral part of insuring that all marketing concepts comply with legal and governmental regulations.

Prior to her joining Alcon, Ms. Hanson-Emerson was a Marketing Project Specialist for Carter BloodCare and managed over 400 marketing efforts annually delivering over 600 pieces to promote the need to save lives through blood donations within the state of Texas. She also has worked in the consulting industry as a marketer for ExecuInsight, LLC and as an IRA expert for Sterling Financial.

Ms. Hanson-Emerson is passionate about delivering inspiring, impactful and accurate messages to people that will motivate them to take action to help others and themselves. She has been an advocate of programs that enhance healthy relationships and understands and promotes tools like the Birkman Method and works daily to expand her healthy lifestyle practices through nutrition, training and workouts.

Ms. Hanson-Emerson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing & Entrepreneurship from Baylor University. She spent a semester studying and traveling in the UK, Italy, France & Scotland. Ms. Hanson-Emerson is also an established artist and decorator. She currently owns a home in Fort Worth, Texas and enjoys spending time with her fun loving Golden Retriever, Bruiser.

Peter Rochon Nicholas - Founder/Board Member

Peter Rochon Nicholas is an award winning director/producer who has worked in both the Film and Television industries. Peter has always been a lover of film, but he chose to purse it as a career when realized the power it has to tell meaningful stories.

After graduating from Santa Monica College, Peter worked on several films before creating his first short film Toy Soldiers. At the same time, he grew as a journalist working for an ABC News Station in New Mexico. In 2016, Peter released his first feature film The Hunt, which has since won several awards at film festivals across the country.

After moving to Texas in 2017 Peter met several survivors of sex trafficking. While their stories broke his heart, it also inspired him to create a film that would bring much needed awareness to this horrible crime. Peter began developing a documentary called Rape For Sale, which will tell stories about sex trafficking and hopefully inspire legislative changes.

It was during this time that Peter also founded Eye Opening Films, to pursue his passion of creating content that will change the world.
